The Siemens OptiPoint 420 Economy Plus telephone is a cost effective IP telephone suitable for office environments, hotels, points of service in shops or stores, libraries or administrative authorities. The OptiPoint 420 Economy Plus is a flexible option that can reduce administration costs and efforts through its 10/100 Base-T mini switch, which allows it to connect to other IP devices such as a PC, printer or other IP telephones. The OptiPoint 420 Economy Plus telephone is able to utilise VoIP telephony with standard voice Codecs and QoS mechanisms for high voice quality. The ability to add on features to the OptiPoint 420 Economy Plus is possible through the open hardware and software platforms and with the addition of a LAN switch for connecting to a PC, this eliminates the need for multiple cables per desk and so can help to save network resources. The OptiPoint 420 family has the addition of displays next to the feature keys. The programmed feature or the telephone number is displayed directly via the self labelling key display, which means that workstations can be shared without the need for paper strips for individual key assignments.

The Siemens Optipoint 420 Economy Plus is only compatible with the Siemens Hicom and Siemens Hipath System and not for home use.
